You would have to get caps lock to change at random several times during a map to get the full effect
I think that the mouse signal was getting confused or corrupted through either the USB connection or the Intellimouse software. It wasn't a faulty mouse tail because it happened with several mice.
On a second PC the mouse would work fine for a while then an hour glass would appear for a few seconds while the PC searched for something (like a USB driver ?). Sometimes the mouse just stopped working and a physical switch to another USB port was needed to get it working again.
LOL I see... Well I prefer USB in Win at least due to slightly faster response times and less sluggishness in game then. Yes I know there are tools to modify the PS/2 pollrate but I never got in any similar probs with USB as you and I only have a mouse on the USB anyway. But I would probably react similarly in your case hehe
