Sometimes i like old things more then new ones.

Like Centurio said, he like Cuba because they have a other lifestyle and old stuff like the oldsmobile cars.

Hey peeps, what do you like more?
Old or new stuff?

It depends on the subject, so I like both ...
I'd prefer to find a saxon penny than a new penny, but I wouldn't be chuffed if I bought a new pc and it performed like a ZXSpectrum :P

Mobiles Phones ? They're the work of the devil I tell Ye !

The Roman thing might just be a religious cultural influence from your childhood ... they were often depicted as the baddies in the old Holliwood epic films (as were us Egyptians) for example. Then again it might just be the British tradition of cheering on the underdogs; the Romans dominated pretty much everyone in Western Europe for a good 500 years :P

I prefer the new. It has no use to cling on the old. The world is ever changing and whoever is stuck in the past will get into problems for the future. It is almost an prerequisite for your survival to go with the new. Anyone left behind will miss opportunities or will get a disadvantage over the others who go with the new.

Besides that, clinging to the old and keep saying: "In the old days, things were better", will only make you more and more depressed when new things come. People should accept the fact that bye gones are bye gones.

You see it throughout history. When writing was invented, people were opposed to it. In one dialogue of the Greek philosopher Plato (Phaedrus), Socrates was pointing this out with the Egyptian myth of Teuth. Teuth was an Egyptian God who brought writing to King Thamus. Teuth said this invention will make Egyptians wiser and will improve their memory. But King Thamus said that this will only do the opposite. People who have mastered writing will forget to use their memory and rely on whatever has been written instead (read here)

Same thing happened with the introduction of the press. No more need for monks to rewrite books anymore, but simply press them. People were opposed to it as well (mostly monks, cos it deprived them of meaningful work :P).

Or when typewriters were invented. People would loose the ability to write with pen and inkt. No more need to learn how to write, you only need to learn how to type. Most people have an ugly handwriting now :P. When electronic typewriters came, some people didn't like that either. They prefer the old typewriter, with an inkt lint and you needing to press down the keys with force.

Then computers. OMG, no more need for paper and inkt! Again, some people didn't liked it ...

Well you get my point. It has no use to cling on old stuff, when the new one always propelled us forward into the future. The world is in an ever changing flux and you can't do anything about it. Just embrace this fact and everything will get better :P

People invent things that makes life easier as well as it makes us lazier at some point :P But good and refreshing post NmS (specially the egyptian example), but I think they mean in terms of like.. old cars (For some it might be a hobby), old games, old movies maybe (these days people just keep remaking shit, it's like we became uncreative at some point). Stuff that usually brings back old memories to life (speaking for myself now, don't about u others). There's no point on hanging on to stuff if they have no value - if it doesn't mean anything to you. I don't know what people mean by "things used to be better in the old days", depends on what exaclty they have in mind. Like the younger generations come and show up and change everything. Some people don't know wtf an EMO is, right and so on.

In Texas people look like real freakin cowboys. Big buckles and silly hats, wearing clothes from the 1800s and chilling around in 2011 - like this stuff is cool yo. That's just old cultures and old life styles, and same thing with Cuba and all it's part of their history :p Maybe some people might be too stubborn and still want to travel by horses xd

But come on Ramses, cellphones? Have you seen the movie 127 Hours? If you have, then I don't need to say more :P
