heya,

i want to build a new pc as well (hopefully before the next lan) but.....
believe it or not the hardest part for me is to find a case =/

hardware etc isnt that hard imo.. but the case, well i want it to be silent & big enough so i dont have problems adding graphcard etc. the case i got at the moment is antec nine hundred. which a cooling block on the cpu that is so large theres no way a side fan fits in. but since i stopped overclocking anyway it's an option atm.

so anyone got suggestions? saw some really nice ones but they're over 150€. not really fitting in the budget, rather spend that on a better graphcard.

and btw.. what to go for, amd & ATI for a change or stick to intel and nvidia? never had a amd system im afraid at some point it will turn against me

Edit: ok, it will be a problem to select a new mobo too =P havent been in that game since ehm, 775
so i really seem lending towards Intel's 1055 (newest i think?) P8P67 B3
but which one !!! lol..

as i've read now they have more space between the pci slots so that a double width doesnt take all space from the other slots so that u can easily fit in another card r sound cards etc.

any opinions on that? the ones i've seen now are all pre order -.-

also, not really sure wich memory to take yet, but that ill look up on the net , so far i just tagged some things i thought would be cooperative ^^

Get some 700 w power suply, it is not much more money, but why risk wit so good config?
Buy OCZ gamexstream 700 w or somethin like that, have OCZ ps it is 1 of the best by tests..........
And memory, Go 4 Corsair or mushkin...

jeah tbh i just clicked one of those =P

ocz bought over a really good power supply developer some years back. not sure what the name was. got one of ocz in my current setup too ^^ works great. but around 80€ is about the same price i gues. =)

about the processor, its limited to dual channel, the intel triple right?

ok, selected one the ocz ones for you just for the looks, some red neon instead of blue is nice for a change too:P (atm mine's all blue inside )

water.. jeah well, like i said.. i dont care much for oc'ing anymore really,did it with this pc, pretty good.. but since a fan died i didnt even cared buying a new one. so would be a waste to go into that again, im afraid ill wont care after a while with this one either. (therefore a cheaper mobo is an option too.. but all the options are still nice to have )

I like the case a lot. Only the standard fans that it has aren't the most silent. So you might wanna replace them. Cable management is a bit tricky, but doable. I did a nice job on that one if I may say so

The power supply is awesome. Its fan doesn't run until the temperature is at a certain degree. When Im working in windows its always off. Only when I game for a certain period it starts the fan

The CPU is awesome! It's fucking fast and piss easy to overclock. Getting to 4,5 Ghz is no problem at all

CRT > LCD for FPS gaming

Saving up money now for a second monitor. CRT draws alot of power, so will only use that then for gaming and everything else the LCD
