If you plan on starting to drink whiskey, I suggest you start with something simpler instead of a whiskey from 1919.
Looks like a rare and expensive beverage.
Maybe try some glenfiddich first, or a good bowmore.

Ah, blended, how do you drink it JJ?
Me, I drink Jack Daniel's at the moment, and in the pub I drink Famous Grouse.
Both blended whiskey's and I drink em pure, with 2 drops of water to enhance the aroma and flavour.

But if I'm really in the mood for something good, I'll smile at my dad for something better, a good single malt. =)

In a recent tv program (Three men in a boat in Scotland or something) a whiskey distiller advised Rory to sip and savour the whisky in the mouth one second for every year it had matured (ie 20 years old whiskey, 20 seconds in mouth before swallowing) to get the full flavour. Pretty sure that's what he said, although I can imagine your mouth would be anaesthetised if you take a large sip

Looks like they stopped making that type abit ago. Check here -

This is their home webpage.
http://www.glenmorangie.com/

I cannot find that 1 on the site so if they have stopped making it, I would keep hold of that and it could be worth a penny or two.

seems the have stopped making it, price is in the range what your would expect for a decent malt though tbh, and looks like it is around 12 yrs old if u believe what they said there. All n all looks like a decent malt ...only one real way to find out tho :)

I like you taste. glenfiddich and glen livit, are a very fine whiskey, and need to be drunk at room temp, and with nothing added. The "Glen" brand seems to be a very fine and a very expensive choice of whiskeys. This certain bottle, from the name, seems to have an Orange taste? I do not know, I have never seen it b-4.

"After roughly 10 years in bourbon casks, the malt is poured into Port pipes. Although they don't put an age on the bottle, we understand that the whisky is aged a total of 12 years. This was discontinued and replaced by the 'Quinta Ruban' bottling in autumn 2007."
This is what the internet site, had to say about it.

Open it, and sip, very careful, not to spill it. :)

***STOP the presses****
DO NOT OPEN THE BOTTLE.... it may be worth more than you know. I just googgled around a bit, and it seems that this is a very rare product. Ask your friend about it. He will tell you more.
