Hi!
You're right, partydevil. For all who don't know: This meat product indeed is the origin of the word "spam" as used for unwanted emails. There's a sketch from Monty Python that plays in a restaurant and the guest asks the waiter what dishes they have. And regardless what dish it is, everything is with spam (the product you can see above). The guest wants something without spam, but regardless what he asks for, it's always with spam.
Now the computer people who thought about a term for those unwanted emails back in the early days of the internet remembered the Monty Python sketch and found that spam (as used in the sketch) would be a good description for the phenomenon. And that's what we call it today (also in UT now

).
Coco.
P.S.: Spam is short for "spiced pork & ham" by the way.

Hi!
Yes, just the AM of ham is used. But I looked it up and to be 100% correct, it means SPiced hAM.

Strange!!! I can not post a "quick reply"....
What ever. WHAT!!!! NO SMILEIES EITHER?!?
Coco, you are just about everywhere, and are wise in all.

That with the word spam, "SPiced hAM" is typicle advertisment America. Americans are always trying to find an abreviation (OMG; my spelling is getting worse by the moment) for everything. I have seen this in the Army, and it is to the point, where words have no meaning anymore. But back to the subject. YES you are correct. And I am proud to be your friend....
