If ur German or British you can buy the Special Edition of it for around 20 euro on Amazon (19.95 on german amazon and 17.97 POUNDS on uk amazon :P)

Seems quite cheap, since other stores still list the normal game as 40 euro purchase..oh and the German one is of course cut and and what not :p

From on December 1st 2008, the low value customs-free limit is raised from 22 Euro to 150. So with some patience you can get a lot more then without paying those outrageous customs fees.

Hi!

I'd preferably go for an English version again (my UT2004 is also English). Although I'm not eager to see the game elements that were left out in the German version, I simply don't want to have a crippled product.

The Amazon price of 19.97 Euro for the German special edition is really excellent (the price of the normal version is 38,95 Euro!), but I wouldn't buy it if it's really cut.

Now my question is: Can UT3 be made English and uncut similar easy as UT2004?

For those who don't know: In case you have a non English version of UT2004, you can simply edit the UT2004.ini to change the languae to English and get rid of any limitations. In the section

Code: Select all

[Engine.Engine]
simply find the line

Code: Select all

Language=de
and change it to

Code: Select all

Language=int
Done!

Can anybody tell if there's a similar (or even identical) way to do it for UT3?

Coco.

There seem to be entries in the ini again and also bloodpatch crap to download..The necessary files for the gore and stuff are still all on the German DVD..You can even get the English Audio back :P

...or just import an American original and don't bother patching this/editing that...

Hi!

I have no problem importing the US version, but it shouldn't be too expensive overall (product price + shipping + taxes).

So if you can provide a shop which sells the US special edition for around 20 euro altogether, I'll order it!

@Cee: Is there a language entry in the .ini again?

There is a language entry in the ini again, but I dunno if that also changes the gore. If you google for the whole matter, you find tons of posts saying that "it doesnt work", "it works", "the official 1.1 patch made the game uncut" and "Die Sprache lässt sich nach der Installation des Patches umstellen, in dem man in der Engine-Konfiguration die Sprache auf INT stellt (Eigenschaft "Language" in Sektion "Engine.

Standard international shipping from USA to anywhere is 11 or 12$ :-) If you pay 45, Ghost, you're being ripped off :-O Large packages are a different matter... Van what were the last packages you shipped my way on the postage....?

Hi!

Ok, thanks Cee, I'll give it a try and find out myself. I don't have a PC to play it yet, but I hope that'll change this year.

Anyway, I will install it and try to change the language from German to international. And then I'll report here. In case it doesn't work, I'll simply sell it on eBay. ;-)

It's all nonsens. Make it easy yourself for playing UT3 without this unbelievable and unbearable German Translation and Speakers. :evil:
Never played a game with such silly german Translation. Blame & Shame!

You have to do only two thing for playing american / english version.
1. install the game. :lol:
2. patch the german game with an american patch (actually version 1.2). Ready! :P

Here's the link:
http://www.unrealtournament3.com/us/pat ... 1.2_US.zip
It's only a amount of 234 MB. :shock:
Ah, i've forgot: You must be 18 years or older! :lol:
