Hello

I noticed that on our TAM servers, I hear sometimes a voice saying the word "Ownage".
The other players told me that there is this sound when a TCP member joins.

Now I have two concerns about this:
1. I don't like the word "ownage" (which puts us IMHO near some (script-)kiddies who are 12 years old, and spend all their time making other people feel bad).
2. There is only a sound when a TCP member joins, which I dislike a bit, because it veers towards an attitude of elitism, saying that TCPs are "worth more" / "better people".

I have spoken to some other players and they agreed.
I therefor request the removal of this sound.

i like it, its pretty cool ^^
i think the TG server also has this feature, but when ppl start to take every fart seriously then it loses his fun which is actually the main reason of this sound and not to make other playser feel bad...

Its good to hear something when }TCP{ peeps arrive, it is our server after all , maybe OWNAGE isn't quite right but something like OWDO (copyright the Damned) or a similar snappy remark could replace it ?

Well, I didn't hear it yet, but I like the idea in general. It tells the other members that a friend has arrived.

I would also suggest that we replace the word "ownage" with something different since I don't like the term as well.

As for the elitism attitude, I don't feel like this. Ramses also said that it's our clanserver and I also think that it's ok. If you were consequent with this, you would also have to remove the }TCP{ tag, because it is a sign for our closed community as well.

I think the message should say

"OWNAGE but not becuase we are better becuase we have admin rights and can kick ban you plus its our server so really we are half ownage but who knows you may be better than us"

Have a sound play when a fellow member joins is a good idea.
But seeing that so many peeps have commented in another part of the forum
about the word ownage and their dislike of it,I find it surprizing that it is being
used.
Personley some one saying it or using it mean nothing to me but I am hearing a lot worse on the other servers that I play on.After a while you just dont notice it.

May be instead of a word,a sound/noise should be used
e.g. a fanfare.

Car only put it up for testing purposes of the whole thing
Personally I have no problem with it. If we start changing and censoring everything, we're no better than those government ppl in China, verschäubelt nochmal :O

Anywho..Would still be cool if the sound could be individually changed for every player

IMO, it goes.. I had a little word with Wolf also about it few days ago, and we try not to use that kind of "elite"talk etc. on the servers.

Because TCP aint about that, it's about having a good time with eich other.

So the ownage word when someone enters only starts those kind of things imo..

Well i am not able to change the sound to anything else ( seems embed into the .u file)

So if any of u wanna have a go .. i would preferably have it so i can sellect the uax files myself

Btw .. it should be off on the servers by now
