I got this mail today :

Dear customer

Yesterday while we where having problems in our network we found out that your gameserver had a hardware error.

As a result we had to shut the server down instantly

Unfortiunatly we could not backup the files for u.

Today we will be providing a new server for most people this will mean a new ip but for public servers we will try to keep the old one.

U will get a 14 day free server use for this .

Then the other mail i got :

Dear Customer,

Your game server is back online with the same ip.
All your settings are restored to the official data.
We added 14 days extra to your game server for all problems.

If you have any questions about this e-mail please let us know.

So basicly this means the server is back to the way it was when we got it ...

Meaning i will have to add everything again

I will get the server back to ONS again tonight but i am not sure i will be able to get all the maps and stuff back up there again so fast.

That's it for now

Cheers
Car..

Maybe it's a good time to remove some not so popular maps? (I mean those that, let's say, has been played 10 times in past 6 months)

Hi Carnage!

Well, these are bad and good new at the same time. It's good that the server will be up again and bad that everything has to be done again.

Seriously, if there is anything I can do to help you, please let me know. I'm constantly uploading and installing new maps to our own custom root server (we are a bunch of 5 guys and 1 girl who rented one to have our own UT 2004 server), so I really have experience with it (also with the web frontend). I also have a 576 KBit/s upstream, so I can upload maps or other files with about 70 KB/s.

Of course, I don't know if you trust me enough already to give me upload access or something, although passwords can be changed after it, of course. But as I said already, if you want my help, you'll get it, no question! Btw: If you are searching for the ONS maps - I had them almost all extracted with my Cache Extractor. :-) Ah, and I've setup a download page on our own server, so my friends can download the files that I installed there. Maybe, this can be useful, too.

Regards,
Coco.

Well the map problem was not gonna be so big as i feared after all :)

All the map needed where of course on the redirect server
So i just downloaded the lot and uncompressed them.

Starting the upload now
so with abit of luck all will be as it was somewhere in the evening :)
