A nice remake of the old Observatory map
Still needs some tweaks here and there so that's why it's posted here
Big thanks to Tranq for doing this one

Yeah just like the real thing when that scaling is tweaked

:O ....
What should be done?

The map is taken over 1 to 1 on the size i seems and with the 2004 characters the map seems a bit small
Perhaps the same trick that was used for Sinfonia would do the trick
Other then that it looks just like the original

Great job

Sorry m8 it wasn't a complaint, the map looks great and it plays well too as it is, but it needs to be scaled up a bit if you want to get
exactly the same feel as the original

Sorry guys, that was a misunderstanding, I am always looking for help from you guys, and will never (well, ALMOST never) take anything as a complaint.
Thank you for bringing it up to me. As with Sinfonia, I was more interested in getting things to look like the old version. I overlooked the size of it. This is somethign I should have seen and I ask you guys for my forgivness. (Anyone crying yet?) HEHE
OK. I will downsize it, unless someone else would like to do it, with alittle more time? Kobra, you did a great job on Sinfonia, want to do this one also?
Thanks again guys, and special thanks to Carnage for his server, and time.

there is a problem with scalling ur map tranq... you made an interesting conversion of Obs, the whole map is one brush and makes it impossible to scale.
maybe becouse its too much calculating for the pc to scale such a big and complex geometrie.. not sure

i will take a longer look at it and try to figure out how to solve that problem
or maybe someone else like frank could help out.

you want to shrink ur Sinfonia?

Yeah, I tried the same thing and thought..."OMG, The brush scaled, but the level did not..."
I have no clue. except start from the beginning, and I only have that much time in the winter. I will, and want to do it. I just need time.

O O heheh i was affraid of that, gone try to rescale it here i said try
how much scalling do we use on it?

i think 1.5 would be good
if you get it, lets see how it looks.
then we can try 2

have rescalled the big brush to 1.5
now only the small parts need to be scalled too
ill send it to you Kobra and Frank

rescalling does something bad to the map
after a rescale it is not thou movers are smaller and
in drawing it is rescalled

Yeah we saw that too. I think we need to start from scratch. We can use this one for now though.

there is another way to scale maps, but that also didnt work here.
maybe it works with your editor, select all brushes and use the 'Actor Scalling' tool.
its harder that way couse you have to try scalling it symmetric by your own guess.
also a bad thing of this way of scalling is that you have to replace all lights, botpaths and items again.
edit: be warned your PC may crash if you use this way on your map, couse its one big complex brush, but this method works fine on any other maps
