Hi there...

Today there was a very annoying guy on the server who spammed all the time. I asked him to stop, he continued, I warned him I'd kick vote, he continued. I placed a kick vote against him and 3 other players, too.
But it was not enough to get him off the server...

It is very difficult to make people kick vote because 1. they may not read messages at all, 2. they don't know how exactly to kick vote, 3. they are to afraid.

So I ask myself: Are there no Admins so that you can Kick someone? :-/

Try warning them that their name and IP will be taken from the log and they may well find themselves permanently banned from }TCP{ and allied servers if they persist. Usually works and if it doesn't .... action can be taken

I also have a sort of sub admin in place on the server with limited rights
Perhaps i will hand them out to some more people then the one's who have it now .

But if i see any misuse of it i will revoke it imediatly.

I wrote in another post, that "Carage" was captain. I was wrong. Car is "Computer GOD". Take names and he will kick A__.

Take extreme care in kicking people. Even more so in banning people. I have admin rights to the server but I've only kicked a player once and that was for repeatedly calling another player bad names in spite of me warning him.

The general idea is that everyone has to be able to have a good time on the server. If a player thru his actions, be it swearing, bitching or playing unfair, makes the game less enjoyable for the other players then he should be issued a warning first. If nothing changes, you can kick the player, explaining why you kick him. If he comes back and does it again, then theres no place on our server for him and he should be banned.

I once got kicked from a server playing a HL derived game called Gunman Chronicles just because I fragged the administrator a few times . I played fair and did nothing wrong, but it was an old game by the time I played and had a very small community. The administrator refused to believe I was called Ramses and had not played the game online before. I think he thought I was using a cheat so he kicked me off the server

That happens when your so good ram they think you cheat :O

Very well said and I aggree. I also had an experience like Rams. I was playing and ran past a player with his head down, so I just kept running. I got shot in the back so I turned around and shot back and killed the guy who was standing there, he was admin. So he banned me because it was not him but someone else. It was a big misunderstanding, but instead of asking me, he just took action. Not very nice.

We also have a setting on our server that is called session banning
That basicly bans the player from the server for the duration of the match.

I have done this to a few people by now and i must say this works quite good
I usualy start off with some warnings .. if no reply or not to my satisfaction i'll kick the person if he or she comes back and starts again session ban .. and if even after that the person persists i'll ban him / her .. only happend to 1 person sofar .. and yes he is still banned.
