Exactly my words :O
Shooters on a console are for the fanboy kids who think they're top when they're playing a shooter with a pad.. It sucks..Consoles are made for everything else like rpgs or whatever, but not shooters or simulations :P

uhm i feel the same about ps2 FPS games...its why i refuse to like halo...

but it will be playable with a mouse and all...obviously...if they were to make it without mouse support for ps3, they'd be losing like half thier audience...

Halo...been interested in Halo2. Played it on a Xbox during the X-mas holidays, but I can't get the hang of it with the controller. Not to mention it didn't feel right playing it on tv, lol.

Hoping it comes out for the comp. >.<

Uhm well i played it at a friends house a few months ago and it really isnt anything special...Just an average FPS...the only thing making it look good is that the rest of the xbox games are just as bad, and microsoft are great at advertising and hype. ironically, thier phrase "Microsoft does not comment on rumors or speculation" only adds fuel to the fire of hype...

Lol yep i guess they are. My fave was Soul Reaver 2, since i liked the ending so much, when you fight yourself, and kain kills you, then it sais 'History Abhores a Paradox'...

ya, I enjoyed Soul Reaver 2 alot myself. Mainly because it was more story-based. I'm into the series for the story itself than the fighting and stuff.

I read they might be making a 6th game, but since the company was sold or something to another company, it looks a bit more unlikely.

Glad to see other people who like the series though :D

If you like stories, then maybe you should play the Wing Commander series from 1 to 6, although quality dropped over games 3 and 4 where they made too much of a movie (bad one at that) out of the game.

Still, I find Origin has made the most intriguing stories woven into that series, which is more than you can say about some old Role Playing Games even. Also, in this series, there is never a real happy ending, even if you win all through all the time. Gives the game an eerie feeling for a space shooter...

I mean... you lose your friends, your loves, possibly even your homeplanet (although then the game is over). And the ingame screams of dying people are better than most of what you can hear in horror-movies. It's an utterly sad game series actually (ignoring Private(e)r 1 and 2 there btw...).

I think its heights are parts-II and 6.

Part II because it's VERY non-linear in the middle part - of course there are defined story start and end points, but quite a few missions depend on what you achieved (or failed at) before. Also, the amount of story telling in the game is totally INSANE for such an old game.

Part VI is so good because it was freely downloadable, and not having so much more space availeble to put movies in, Origin went back to story telling and in game action where the story unfolds. This gave Wing Commander a real edge back at the quality factor, no stinking movie needed to tell a good story 8)
