It was actually a bit of grease or something of the sort on the DVD. I always look at the CD/DVD whe I have trouble, but this was so "hidden" that I did not notice it until I cleaned it. Thank you Coco for bringing me on the right track. And thx Ronny for the tip. I am in fact having trouble with this computer as well. I did the updates and driver updates, and everything else that goes with a new reboot, but this computer has a problem with over-heating. Frank

Well, it is real. My friend is handycapped from the waste down. His name is Radion, Radion 9700.
We have been through allot together. Over 2555 hours of gaming and the such, and now he is short of dieing.
I will miss him. Frank
I tested the card out in the other machine. It worked fine for about an hour. I started up a bit of a chalenge for "him". Unreal Tournament. And "he" buckeled at the knees.
I am now looking for an inexspensive, 512 MB card. My Daughter, Jenny, works at a well know German computer supermarkt, and I will talk to her tonight.
My tester came last friday, and was broken. So I sent it back, and now have to wait a few weeks to get a new one. I can not wait that long, and will just get another card.
I want a ATI Radion again, because I feel comfortable with it, and its software.

I think I have decided on a GeForce 8800. It is a cheapy for about 120 Euros. With 512 MB I can live with it.
This computer I am useing now, keeps rebooting on me, and I really need a g card fast. Frank

Careful, I have had 2 8800 models for testing purposes, one from XFX, the other I don't remember. Both had temperature problems, but the XFX (those models are overclocked by design) had some SERIOUS temperature issue... I mean SERIOUS as in "above 100 degrees celcius" to make this clear! Took me some effort to cool it down to 40 with some hacks... but you watch that temp!

On the XFX site they sell cheap cards that have been used but tested and everything they even give u 1 year warranty

actually saw a high end ATI card for like 60 - 70 % cheaper then in retail stores woot?!
Plus i had a Nvidia Geforce 9500 XFX 1 gig for a while worked perfect will work for the games u play frank :p only cost me about 65 euros

@ Wolf. Thanks for the heads up on the temp problem. That will be one of my first questions b-4 I buy.
I have to be careful what I buy. There are so many different types out there. I have an older motherboard, and I do not have the PCIe. I never even knew that they had changed the slot, until I went looking for a new card. But the PCIe has an extra slot that I do not have.
Thanks guys for the tips, and I will keep you informed. Frank

It's old man. It is a Medion MD 5000 ver 1.
Media Markt has a special today, on a 4 quad 266 (I think Intel), with a gig grafic cad, and again, I think, a HD with over 1 terrabyte. For 800 Euros.
I was very tempted last night to buy it, but right now,, there are more important things that I have to give my money out for.
Soooo, I bought a G card for 65 Euros. It is a 512 MB ATI Radion, HD 3650?!? Never heard of it b-4, but it is almost just like my old one, only with 4 times the grafics.
Unreal looked and felt almost real last night.
There are a few other things that I have to iron out, b-4 I start the game up again. But.... HERE I COME!!!! YEHhaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!! Frank

by Ronny.
Also about the 8800gt i had insane fps issues with it in UT2004, wich seemed like half of the people who has an 8800gt has with UT makes it more odd it magicly dissepeard for me when i tryed a diff grap card, then put back in the old one. Then it was suddly no more fps issues with 8800gt. even tho i updated it to the same version.

Hey Ronny. It could have been a problem with the old driver, that somewhere something was stuck, and then you updated it with something totally different, and the card said, "OH, OK, I get it now, you wanted the GOOD quality grafics".

BTW, nice to see you again.
As it seems, PD also has the card, and has had no issues with it. Good luck to both of you.
I choose this one, because a friend of Jenny, my Daughter, said it was a good step up from my old one. It is almost the same as the old radion 9700, just with more memory. Call of duty 4 now plays, but after the first intro game, it hangs, and I get a system beep. No Idea what it is, but will loook it up in the near future. BTW, has anyone played Call of Duty 4?
Now it is off to play a bit of UT 2K4.
