Hi!

FastPath only works for ADSL. So if your DSL line is faster than 6 Mbit/s, you'll most likely have ADSL2+.

You can (and should) check the delay from your home computer to your ISP network by performing a traceroute (in Windows, open a command prompt and type 'tracert google.com', for example, and check the delay from your home net to your ISP net (in case you're using a router at home, it'll be the 2nd hop, otherwise it will be the first).

People having ADSL without FastPath will usually get a ping value around 45ms. In case you got FastPath, you should get around 10ms (or even less). That means without FastPath, your ping will be around 35ms higher, regardless to which server you connect, because the delay is caused by the line from your home to your ISP (a hop which you will always have to use).

By the way, FastPath may also be called Interleave low or something similar.

To get that feature, you will have to contact your ISP and ask them to activate it. In some cases, your ISP may charge a one-time fee or a small monthly fee (or even both) for it. So better ask them about that as well.

Coco, you are really up on it. You know just about everything... er, well, about everything. :)

I have had fast path for about a year now. It dropped my ping down, from 90, to 45. At first I noticed the change, but a very min. change. I have ADSL. My provider, Telecom, asks for 1 Euro a month.

I believe there is a "God" dial that they use, and when you first get it, it makes you faster, but then they slowly, over months, turn the dial down. You become slower, but you never notice it, because your ping is always the same. Frank

Alot of the "evidence" that was used in the movie didn't convince me he was using a wall hack of some sort. But later on it showed that he was using a wallhack by the way he was playing.

But I too look at floors and at walls when I play, because that helps me to locate better where the sounds come from. And if I don't hear sounds then I use prediction to predict where someone will be. I wouldn't be suprised that sometimes people think I might use a wallhack or something. Heck at times like that I would even think that I use it as well :P
