Hi!
Ok, I'll add it to FH#4 and we'll see how it plays.

Thanks for creating it, mate.
Coco.

Hi Frank!
Ok, the map is added as }TCP{DefendTheCore on FH#4 now. I gave it a short try and it works pretty well.
Here are some things I noticed:
1. The screens do just show 6 members (btw. Christic is Christic now and no longer CorpusChristic

). It would also be nice if all the screens wouldn't show the same picture at a time.
2. The fade-in of the pictures on the screens has a little issue: they fade in to full brightness and when fading ends, they suddenly flip back to approx. half brightness.
3. There's a small passage between two rooms which has walls that look like a starfield or black marble with many small white dots. When walking through this passage, there's always a small lag and also an error in the grafics: When walking through it slowly while looking left, you can clearly see a scoop of grey marble within in the wall. I think it's not supposed to be there, right?
But besides this, everything's very nice. I also tried all the lifts, teleports and the "hot air channel". No issues there. So... good work!

Thank you for putting this on the server. I am interested, if the game flow will work.
About the Members and the screens they are on, I know about the name change of Christic, and that there are only 6 members on it. I am working on it, and will try to get the rest out this year. (Notice, you and I are on there though

). I just wanted to get this out, before my "working" year starts, and I have to wait another year, to get the few members in there, that I do not have pics of yet. I plan on makeing the 4 screens different players, just like Sinfonia. And maybe a few smaller ones, around the place.
I hope that the flow of the game will work, and like I said before, I am very interested in what the others have to say about it. Frank

Off topic: speaking of pictures of members. Is there a post on the forum with pictures of members? I'm curiouse how everybody looks in real life

ah to bad, because almost noone has put their picture on the homepage. Maybe fun to start such a thread in the members section ?

You are right. I have tried before to get the pictures of the peeps, and it was hard. Lets give it a try.

Hi!
Frank, in your sinfonia map, I noticed players standing in front of one of the screens and watching the different members appear. But no one was running around, trying to find the different screens so he could see all members.
So my suggestion would be: Make a certain number of screens (let's say 6) and show all members on all screens, but not synchronous. For example, if we had 36 members, you'd start the slideshow on screen #1 with member #1, the one on screen #2 with member #7, screen #3 with member #13, etc. So after 6 fades, all members would have been visible once and still you could see them all when just looking at one screen for a while.
Nms made me have an idea: Let's create a thread in the members section where everybody shall post a picture (mustn't be a real photo, of course) which he would like to have in a map - nothing else, no discussions, etc. Those not posting a picture there won't get into the map. It's pretty easy and will save you a lot of time and work!
@Nms: I'm also curious about what everybody else looks like. Wolf and Kobra already were very different from what I thought they'd be.

But on the other hand, I like the anonymity and the fantasy that creates faces for the voices I hear on Teamspeak.

So real photos would probably make it less interesting...

Hi!
Nah, of course not, they'll still move left and right enough to avoid camper warnings.

At least that's what they do in Sinfonia.

I was just thinking the same as PD. I was also thinking of another idea. What if we put a list of the peeps that were going to show on that monitor, and then the people that wanted to look would know who was coming up?. Hmmm..... now i need time to think. Cig break...
BTW, yes, a good thought coco. Thx. Frank

I played this map for the first time last night Snowy, and it played pretty well I think.
I noticed only one graphics glitch, in a short corridor heading towards the centre you get a brief glimpse of the central globe through the wall.
The only other incident was at the double lift (I think they are raised by rockets), probably due to UT2K4's poor handling of lifts ... the lifts seemed to get confused when two teamates tried to ascend. It took what seemed like 30 seconds (probably only 10

) before I decided to take another route
Neither of these really affected the gameplay, just thought you would like some feedback

Thank you for the update. I have been working on it and the detail is getting there. Coco told me about the wall that will not stay solid. Damn walls. That is a problem with the teleporters. I have 2 or 3 in there, and they do not like each other. I guess I will have to take out 2 of them, and leave just that one that goes from the work-shop to the top.
But this with the lifts in the center area, that is new. (they are not rockets, but a very realistic cylinder). I thought that the mirror effect on the cylinders, may make problems for me. There are a S__T load of surfaces on them. About 64 or more. So I may have to make the lifts over again.
I would like to try this out again, and have 2 or more players use the lifts in the center, at the same time. If this happens again, then I will change these 2 out, for a more grafic friendly lift.
Thanks guys for the info. Frank

Also with the pictures. I have/will download the ones that I do not have, and Get this booger out. Frank
P.S. Someone give me a beer!!!!
