I got a question: The Core 2 Duo E8600 CPU uses a bus frequency of 1333 MHz (quadpumped). Does this mean that the real bus frequency is 333.3 MHz and is being quadrupled for the CPU?
Coco.
Yes, 333 mhz is the bus speed, and 4 datapackages per clock will be transfering, so 333x4=1333. The real bus speed is 333 mhz.
I know thats important to have a synchron system. But to be honest i dunno how to get it, but i ll ask my friend. He have a Pc shop and should know it.
Good to know that at the next pc generation the FSB ll be replaced from DMI or QPI, then is this crappy topic off

I spoke with him now and he said to me, that only in old Pc`s the Systembus was one and the same. Now is the cpu bus speed faster as the periphery bus speed, and it must be attached a arbitrator brick (german: vermittlerbaustein).
And this brick is the northbridge. And on this mainbord u got the X48 chipset as northbridge thats a very good one he said.
So u can buy and use full ram speed and cpu speed, cause they r regardless to each other.
Hope its a help
I thought it must be the same like old Pc`s. Now i am a bit wiser

Hi!
Ok, thanks, so RAM and CPU bus speeds are independant from each other. Nice.
Coco.

Hi Guys!
After some "little" problems with the wrong BIOS version (the old BIOS didn't support the E8600 CPU) the great machine works fine now!
The next days I'll install and play UT 2004 / UT3 and I hope that the performance doesn't make my boyfriend cry...
Greetings, Carhith

Now you could play that game my daughter bought me for my birthday, and I can not play, because my system is too slow. Nice work guys, and I hope you enjoy it. Time for Coco to get one for Christmas.

I'm very happy, I waited for my new PC sooooo long.
And I must say that Coco is the best PC Hardware and Software Admin ever!
Because he always explained me how to deal with several PC problems, I'm more and more often able to get along with problems myself.
So he can play UT3 on my PC as often as he likes...

Learning about pc's improves the best if you figure the problems out them selves

All those e-books and shit, they dont help me at all
