Kay.
I like you mate but you need to get laid!
And I dont mean by a lady who is open source.

I am joking Kay.
A lot of what you say is true but life/reality is not like that,it would be nice
if it was,but it isn't.
Nice video clip Sentic.
You peeps better not be in that much of a hurry to play UT3
looks like new hardware is required for smooth gaming.:/

To test to see weather your pc has got any chance of running UT3.
Again, what for? I don't plan to be playing it anyway, so why test if I could? Waste of time. If I do play it then it is years to come in which case I will be having a new machine anyway so again, waste of time.
}TCP{the_kay wrote:}TCP{SLAPHEAD wrote:I believe that alot of software has alot of malicous code in it that we know nothing about!
That is true, and I believe that most of this malicious code is in proprietary software, such as Microsoft Windows. With free software, one can simply look in the source code to find and take the malicious code out, with proprietary software that is not possible.
[/quote]
It is possible. Legal methods include DNS reroutes when you notice installed software phones home (my HOSTS file is megs large and grows with any modern application I deem to install).
A network sniffer also helps.
Illegal methods include de-assembling and hacking.
}TCP{SLAPHEAD wrote:You do realise that STREAM (Half Life 2) is being used more and more in games.
It's called "STEAM" (no R) and is the reason I boycot HL2 and other games distributed this way. I even sent back the Half Life Anthology copy unopened and got my money back because of it. I don'T care how GOOD these games are, they are not worth accepting this kind of commercial oppression.
}TCP{Coco wrote:Yes, it's really awful what happens there. But on the other hand, the software companies are forced to do something against software piracy. In a certain sense, it's the fault of the users themselves who simply copy everything that is not protected..
The software companies are forced to nothing at all. They could sell many more copies and save money by NOT investing into copy protections which are all useless sooner or later anyway, at the same time they'd achieve an overall improvement of customer satisfaction because fewer problems.
Once more to clarify:
no copy protection/DRM = more money + more happy customers
Those people who copy everything WILL copy everything anyway despite protections and DRM or simply NOT buy and NOT use the software. So either way there is no actual or fictional damage done by these people. The amounts the industry claims as damages are purely fictional propaganda.
}TCP{Coco wrote:First of all, I ask you kindly to stop using the term "software piracy". The use of this term implies that you equate coping information with attacking ships and killing people. A neutral term would be "copyright infringement", a positive one "helping and sharing with your neighbor". ...
And so on very nice the_kay

Coco is right though, if this gets rehearsed too often it grows a beard too
Now.... enough off topic ... oh wait this is just SP@M anyway

Pittbull, did you read all that is said in the forum or did you just read
the artical that you linked to?
Yes I also read articles posted in the forum. Seems alot of people are very unhappy about it. AVG antivirus also seems to see it as virus and has caused quite alot of problems with it as well.

@Wolf.
Nice feed back, sry for the typo my bad.
Good to hear that you will not be playing the new UT3,you most probly
keep moaning that it is not UNREAL:P.
I still would recommend peeps to install BIOSHOCK demo, just to see
if their pc are up to the job,if it is not then you can play Wolf on
the UNREAL server and keep him company.
I agree that it is sad about games with copy protection/drm etc
but here on planet earth that is the truth/shape of things to come.

Lawl..What new things does that game even offer ? According to reviews it scores for gfx and atmosphere, rest seems to be same old same old (even the same incredibly low amount of different enemies as in Fear -_-) :O
