Yes, that's correct. Many maps don't need any further files. Either they use just the textures and meshes that come with the game, or they have their custom textures/meshes in the map file itself. New external files are usually made if several different maps use them, so you don't need to integrate that stuff into every single map file, thus shrinking their sizes down sustantially.

Just take a look into your UT2004.log file to find out which file might be missing (as described above).

I wrote the other day, and then my laptop died on me, and everything I wrote was gone. So here it goes again.

I downloaded your map pack, and must say it looks nice the way you did your levels. They do not look like copy and paste. DId you redo them yourself, one brush at a time?

Sinfonia looks good. Just a few missing "make the bot happy and open the door for him" bot paths. Also the elevators are missing the "make the bot happy and show them where to stand" bot paths. Also know as lift centers/exits, and for the door, door center. (Did I get that one right?)

Deck opened up for me and it played very well. I did not go into detail with these maps, but from a quick look all looked very well constructed.

I recomend useing these in the server. I guess you can not have enough maps. I keep saying to myself when we are in, "not this one again". And am sure allot of you are also saying this.

Good job man, and keep up the good work.

i agree..what bugs me too is that the maps that we DO wanna play over and over again..like sinfonia :P..are always grey and take along time for them to be playable again..if u add in this sinfonia..we'll have 2 :D

Carnage has set that greying out on purpose so that more maps are played, which is good imo :) . Pity u cant permanently grey out a couple of them though, like the low grav ones :P

i'd say 3-4 is betters..

Hi!

Well, to be honest, I'm pretty bored of the maps that are constantly played, especially in Onslaught. Of course, there are better maps and worse ones. But in my opinion, it would be best to just cycle all the maps without voting. This would save time also. Most of the maps are just voted because people know them very well and have advantages over others. Therefore, they suck completely in maps that they don't know so well. Maybe, I'm the only one to think so, but I just like variety.

Well, I would appreciate it. But since all of us play on the server, it should better be a democratic decision, although I can imagine what the result will be. :-(

My vote is keep it as it is, seems like a nice compromise as it stands :). Make the cycle too big and maps would not be available each day. Also we should all be very familiar with the maps that are regularly picked in clan matches.

They could be UNINSTALLED though (anyone noticed a hint here...?)

what I think is that alot of maps should be removed..maps that are really never played..cuz they are there..
then either we won't get to vote..or maps that have been played should come back faster..also the thing about advantages over others...we should find some way to force them playing a map they don't know every now and then..

Um this is a game played for fun; you can't and shouldn't force people to do anything other than to play with respect  . A fixed map cycle is too restrictive and how would you build in Freon for those that like it ? If you constantly try to force people to play maps they don't like they will vote with their feet ... I still think Carnage has the right compromise with the current setup and the server is very popular :D
