As long as something works well just keep it that way ..
Don't change stuff unless it's realy needed .. newer doesn't always mean better ... and that is certainly true with drivers :D

Yeah..you thought it was finally buried deep down in the forum, but no..solve it :P

And I have a question for smart ppl :O
I use Videolan for videos and now this :
Imagine you wanna use a video and it freezes, because your system is still kinda crapped up..Now the program offers you DIRECTX output and WINDOWS GDI output..DIRECTX freezes sometimes..WINDOWS GDI works..That is because the difference between DIRECTX and WINDOWS GDI is... ? :/

Also my thing crashes when I do either a d3d or directdraw test in the directx thing :P
Odd thing is, I can play NHL2002 perfectly without freezes, even though it also uses d3d :/
Doesnt it just boggle the mind ? :O

Oh and !! The bios garbage stuff..Anybody remembers ? I noticed that its not there, when I first start the computer and also when I reset it before I reach Windows...As soon as Windows was loaded and I reboot, I get the garbage..but then always :P
Amazing ;_;

yep, GDI doesn't use DirectX. Something in the deep settings of ppl's favourite Operating System is option to turn on acceleration of GDI, but I don't know if it is DX related; so be careful and don't turn it on, you'll never see your desktop again :lol:

Depends on mind... but problems with DX doesn't mean problems with OpenGL, so if you play NHL2002 (or other game) in OGL mode it is the why.

There are on-line auctions. Sell your PC, with note "I don't know if it is working, I don't know much about computers." Next buy new from original manufacturer.

I dunno..I dont think that my card is that broken, since its still playing some other games in d3d..opengl..never an option to pick :P

Just odd that some games work and some freeze, even though its always d3d with the same options..If the card would be broken, every d3d game should misbehave :/
It could be something about the newer games, since it all was new stuff that I tried and that froze..maybe something not compatible with old crappy 4200 gfx cards :P

But then again it reminded me that I still have them cool Atari ST and Dreamcast games flying around..Good old Turrican and all ;_;
