Xfire?

Post by }TCP{seNtic »

Do any of you guys use Xfire? It's a chat program, but on the other side you can see what game, and in what server people are playing.

You can download it here if you want: www.xfire.com

Mine is sentic01 ;)

Hi!

I had it installed once, but since I use Skype and Trillian as well, I didn't find it useful enough to have three programs of that kind running all the time.

As for the "friends playing on what server" feature, you might have noticed that UT itself has a Buddies tab where you can enter your friends to see where they play. Ramses should have written it in his PM about the tryout as well. So maybe, you take a look at it again...

Coco.

Proprietary program and only for proprietary operation systems...

I use IRC or Jabber instead (my Jabber-account is: saibot834@REMOVEMEjabber.org (no you can't send emails to this))

Not exactly. It's more like ICQ but it's a free software protocol and lots of clients are available (most of them don't display annoying ad's like ICQ does or spy on you). I personally use kopete (Unix-like-only) as a multi-protocol client. Gaim also supports jabber :)
