Luckily, ASDA sell 5 littre bottles of vegetable oil for only 3 pounds.

But...are the parts themselves sealed? i would think so...

Nops from what i've been reading it's all open and just popped in there
Everything still connected except for the cd rom and the hd ..
With the Cd rom the problem is obvious .. oil on the lens ..
With the hd i saw that they where talking about some little hole in it that balances the air pressure or something like that ..
They had the plan to attatch a little straw to it and let that stick out of the oil

Hehe i still have my trusty p200 here might just pop that one and see how it does haha

well...i actually had it in my head that oil conducted electricity...or at least that it did it better than air...

I had started to build an aluminum reinforced acrilic tank with a double wall, ie an inner tank and an outertank. The idea being to have my oil cooled computer surrounded by a water/fish filled tank. I dropped the project about a year back after trying and failing to build my computer fish tank several times. always had leaks. I did consider having a local glass shop build it for me, but $$ is short around here atm.

i actually wouldnt mind one of those. sounds nice.

Still the idea is prety ingenious .. no more noise .. just an oily smell haha

Hehe, looks weird. it's probably pretty effective, but i think i'll keep my old-fashioned air cooling. :p
